Key Enhancements to the Plan for 2018:


1. Expanded Provider Network 

  • Search the EHN Provider Network to find in-network providers.

  • California

    • New partnerships with Providence Health System have opened up opportunities to include Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Citrus Valley Health Partners as well as all of the Providence Partner Hospitals.

    • Furthermore this new, broader network will allow for access to University of Southern California (USC Verdugo Hills Hospital and Keck Hospital of USC) and Huntington Medical Centers. 

    • EHN will continue its partnerships with Adventist and Memorial Care Health systems.

  • Texas

    • EHN has made several enhancements to the Austin area network including additional Family Practice groups, Pediatricians, and Asthma and Allergy groups, as well as several Behavioral Health and Pediatric Counseling groups.   

    • New providers include KiteStrings Therapy, BeanSprout Pediatrics, Central Texas Speech Therapy, Snyder Dermatology, several podiatrists, as well as orthopedics groups. 

    • The partnership with Seton Medical has also evolved into a comprehensive network that is under a care management arrangement.  For members this means their providers will have better access to their medical information for treatment purposes as well as additional support services.

4. Richer Pharmacy Benefit – There are a number of medications that are 100% FREE on the Premier Plan.

  • Expanded free medication list including medications for diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and more. View the NO-COST Preventative Drug list

  • For all other medications, you will never pay more for a 30-day supply than $10 for a generic medication, $50 for a brand preferred medication, or $150 for specialty medication.

5. Free and Reduced-Cost Primary and Urgent Care Services

  • 100% free at WFM Medical Center (click the Home tab above for more details about these free services)

  • You pay 20% of total cost for all other in-network Primary and Urgent Care visits

    • For example, a $250 visit to an in-network Urgent Care or a Primary Care appointment will cost you $50, regardless of where you are in meeting your deductible.

You are eligible to enroll in the WFM Premier Health Plan if you:

  • Have worked at Whole Foods Market for at least 60 days

  • Regularly work 20+ hours a week

  • Live in either the Austin, TX or Los Angeles, CA area


Newly eligible Team Members need to make their benefits elections through Workday within 30 days of hire. Coverage then begins on the first of the month following your 60th day of employment. Please note that if you are newly hired or newly eligible and you do not submit your medical plan election in Workday by your deadline, you may be automatically enrolled In the WFM Premier Health Plan. See your TMS representative for more information. After your benefits enrollment window closes, you must wait until you have a qualified life event or Annual Enrollment to make changes to your medical plan.
